Egyptian winter tomatoes — fresh and paste-grade for the Uzbek December–April bridge.

Why this page exists

Uzbek domestic tomato production is a summer crop (Jun–Oct). Winter fresh tomato and year-round paste-grade feedstock is imported. Egypt's winter greenhouse tomato (Dec–Apr) fills both channels.

Required sections

  1. Cultivar spec — cluster / round / beef / plum cultivars, greenhouse-grown, Brix 4–5 fresh, paste-grade Brix 5–6.
  2. Packaging — 5 kg plastic crate · 10 kg carton · 1 t bulk tote (processing); retail-ready 500 g / 1 kg clamshell.
  3. Season — Dec → Apr (winter greenhouse); shoulder Nov, May.
  4. Routing — Sea Aktau for FCL · Mersin TIR for retail · Bulk processing-grade sea.
  5. Reefer setpoint +8 to +12 °C (not below +7 °C — chilling injury).
  6. Paste-grade spec — Brix 5–6, pH 4.2–4.5, suitable for Uzbek paste-plant intake.

Required FAQs

  • Q: Why not source winter tomato from Uzbek greenhouses? A: Uzbek winter greenhouse tomato is a growing sector but does not yet meet full retail and processing winter demand. Egyptian winter greenhouse fills the Dec–Apr import bridge.
  • Q: Do you supply paste-grade tomato in bulk? A: Yes — bulk 1 t tote paste-grade (Brix 5–6, pH 4.2–4.5) with residue cert for Uzbek juice / paste plants.
  • Q: What reefer setpoint for fresh tomato? A: +8 to +12 °C. Do not go below +7 °C — chilling injury risk.
